I had need to monitor when my wife gets out of bed. In-bed alarms tend to go off due to movement within the bed. I decided an alarm mat on the floor at bed entry and exit was the best solution.
I found one on Amazon at Floor Mat Alarm.
I have used this for many months and have found it to be a great solution of being alerted when I am asleep.
As I have carpeting next to the bed, I placed some rubberized shelf liner on the floor under the mat to prevent movement, and then covered the whole thing with a small bath rug (removed from the bathroom for safety sake)
