Introduction

This site is dedicated to sharing the lessons I have learned in care giving for my wife, Norma, who suffered a ruptured aneurysm in the front part of her brain on July 25th, 2024.

An angioplasty performed by Dr. Felipe Albuquerque at Barrow Neurological Institute ICU saved her life. The result of the aneurysm was loss of short term memory. She does, however, retain her long term memory and miraculously has had no long-term physical impairments. This has been referred to as Vascular Dementia.

I was informed shortly after her surgery that the brain could repair itself, but could take a long time. It is now over 9 months since the surgery, and I am blessed to see awareness beginning to reappear.
